Mechanical scale
Sunbeam SAB602-05
Best Mechanical scale – Performance – 60 $ to 150 $
Choose the SUNBEAM SAB602-05 if you want a simple mechanical scale with a broad platform and no digital display to manage. Amazon buyers highlight its large overall numbers, and several report consistent readings when the scale is placed correctly. It suits routine weigh-ins more than users who need dependable fine precision.
The SUNBEAM SAB602-05 is our Performance choice for a buyer who wants a basic analog scale that can give repeatable readings. Amazon buyers praise its size, large numbers and consistency. One verified Amazon buyer checked it against a doctor's-office scale and found accurate, consistent readings when standing squarely on a hard, level surface. Another verified Amazon buyer said it returned the same reading minutes apart. The important limit is concrete: some Amazon buyers report that the dial is hard to read at the exact weight, that the zero moves after the scale is moved, or that body position changes the result. Other buyers are divided about its quality, calibration, price and solidity, with reports of repeated recalibration, poor value, breakage or cracks after two months. Treat it as a practical routine-weighing scale, not a precision instrument.
Who it’s for For households wanting a simple mechanical scale, especially users who value a wider platform and an easy-to-see overall dial. Best for repeat weigh-ins on a hard, level floor.

What buyers like for everyday weigh-ins
The strongest pattern in Amazon buyer comments is practical usability. Amazon buyers often like the platform size and the large overall numbers. One Spanish-language buyer praised the good size and large numbers, while noting that the main numbering is in pounds rather than kilograms. Another Amazon buyer says the scale gives the same reading minutes apart, even after shifting weight from foot to foot to let the pointer settle. These comments support a simple use case: step on, let the dial settle, and track your weight over time.
