Legal information

Legal Notice & Privacy

Who publishes Novyxo, where it is hosted, how it makes a living, and what it does — or rather doesn’t do — with your data.

Site publishers

Novyxo is published in a personal capacity by its two creators, between Quebec and France. We do it for the pleasure of making online shopping a little less silly — and because complaining about product pages deserved a project of its own.

Amazon affiliation

Novyxo is a participant in the Amazon.ca Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.ca. When you buy after clicking one of our links, Amazon pays us a commission: the price you pay doesn’t change.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

The commission decides nothing: no brand and no seller pays to appear on Novyxo, and a product is never picked for what it earns us. Our method explains how it is picked.

Personal data

Novyxo asks you for nothing: no account, no sign-up, no form, no newsletter. We don’t sell or share any data. What exists all the same, we’d rather spell out:

  • Server logs. Like any web server, ours records the IP address, date, requested page and browser of each visit. These logs are used for security only — spotting and blocking malicious bots — and delete themselves: after 14 days for visits, after a few weeks for addresses blocked following an intrusion attempt.
  • Resources loaded from elsewhere. To display, our pages request their fonts from Google Fonts and product photos from Amazon’s image servers; the home page also loads a small animation from jsDelivr. Your browser then sends your IP address to those services, as it does for any resource coming from another site.
  • Links to Amazon. When you click a product, you leave Novyxo: Amazon’s own privacy policy and cookies then apply.

You have a right to access, correct and erase what concerns you — under Quebec’s Law 25 and, in Europe, the GDPR: write to Maxime Labet, the person in charge of protecting personal information, at maxime@novyxo.ca. You can also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information in Quebec, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

None. Novyxo sets no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, nothing that remembers you. That’s why there is no banner to accept: there is nothing to accept.

Intellectual property

Novyxo’s texts, layout, code and logo are protected by copyright: any reproduction, even partial, without written permission is prohibited. Even if it’s well written. Especially if it’s well written.

Product photos come from Amazon; brands and product names belong to their owners.

Liability

Our picks are provided for information. We do everything we can to keep them accurate and current, but a mistake is always possible: report it, and we’ll fix it.

Prices, stock and delivery times are Amazon’s at the moment you check them. Novyxo is not a seller: orders, deliveries, returns and disputes are handled by Amazon and its sellers.
