Electric planer
Bosch PL2632K
Best Electric planer – Luxury – 190 $ to 300 $
The Bosch PL2632K is a corded 3-1/4-inch planer for woodworkers who want fast material removal and smooth passes. The evidence also calls for a careful setup check and a realistic dust-collection plan.
Our choice
The Bosch PL2632K earns this place because the available evidence combines effective material removal with smooth results on soft and hard wood, plus a useful kit for guided work. Bob Vila’s independent test named the Bosch 3¼-inch planer its Best Overall for ergonomics, power and smooth cutting. The buyer evidence is favourable on functionality and cut precision, but it is not spotless: all seven mentions concerning blade alignment are negative, and depth adjustment is evenly split between precise operation and inconsistent or unlocked settings. The supplied shavings bag is also reported as practically unusable. This is a strong choice for a woodworker, remodeler or serious DIY user who wants a corded planer with guidance and carrying storage, provided the setup is checked before work and dust collection is planned separately.
Who it’s for For woodworkers, remodelers and serious DIY users handling rough boards or fit-up work with a corded tool.
