Brushless cordless string trimmer
Makita Canada 18V LXT Split Shaft Power Unit
Best Brushless cordless string trimmer – Indecent – 550 $ to 800 $
The Makita Canada 18V LXT Split Shaft Power Unit is our Indecent pick for buyers who want a cordless line trimmer that can share batteries with other Makita equipment. It is the only product from this family we found in this price range, and its price stayed within the range over the past three months. One verified buyer found it worked well with existing Makita equipment and was worth the money.
Why this is the Indecent pick
We chose the Makita Canada 18V LXT Split Shaft Power Unit because it is the only product from the brushless cordless string trimmer family we found in the Indecent range. We looked at products in that range and kept this one after excluding products that were much more expensive in the United States, products already excluded from this range, products rated below four stars, an unavailable product, and products that were not actually the same family. Its price remained in the range over the last three months. The included EM409MP line-trimmer attachment makes this a useful choice for Makita users who want one battery platform across their equipment. One verified buyer said it worked well with their other Makita equipment because it used the same battery, and called it worth the money.
Who it’s for For Makita users who want a cordless line trimmer and already have compatible Makita 18V LXT batteries or equipment. It also suits buyers who value a power unit that can work with other attachments, rather than a trimmer limited to one format.
What sets it apart
- The only product from this family we found in the Indecent range.
- Its price stayed within the range over the past three months.
- The included line-trimmer attachment makes it ready for this use.
- The 18V LXT battery system can fit with the buyer's other Makita equipment, according to one verified buyer.
What to know
- Avis de Gemini reports that the 18V unit has less raw power than dual-battery or gas models for very dense or intensive work.
- One verified buyer praised its compatibility and performance; the available buyer feedback is limited to that account.
This pick is about fit within the family as much as the tool itself. The other products left in the comparison were not the same family: they covered another appliance type, another format, an accessory, or a model intended for another use. The Indecent range therefore has one family match here.
