Bagless corded vacuum cleaner
Dyson Ball Animal 3
Best Bagless corded vacuum cleaner – Luxury – 335 $ to 500 $
The Dyson Ball Animal 3 is our Luxury choice for pet owners and large homes that need serious carpet cleaning. Amazon buyers praise its strong suction and ability to lift dog hair, dirt and debris. Published tests from Modern Castle, Reviewed and Vacuum Wars also found exceptional pickup and useful control around furniture. It is a corded upright built for cleaning performance first, not for effortless carrying.
A deep-cleaning upright for pet homes
The Dyson Ball Animal 3 is made for repeated, demanding cleaning on carpets and hard floors. Its corded design gives it the working range of an upright rather than a battery-limited cleaner. The point here is cleaning force: Amazon buyer reviews repeatedly describe the suction as very strong, and one verified buyer says it lifted dog hair and pine needles from a carpet with ease. Another says it has more power than an older Dyson Animal model. Modern Castle measured a 99.4% overall cleaning score, while Vacuum Wars found it especially strong on deep carpet cleaning and pet hair. Amazon's stability theme is less positive: some buyers report the head and main attachments coming loose, and that the upright does not always stay standing.
We chose the Dyson Ball Animal 3 as our Luxury pick because the evidence points to unusually strong cleaning performance where a premium upright earns its place: carpets, pet hair and large cleanup jobs. Modern Castle's objective tests gave it a 99.4% overall cleaning score and found excellent pet-hair pickup. Reviewed found near-total edge-to-edge brush pickup and good turning agility from the ball mechanism. Vacuum Wars likewise found it markedly stronger than the Ball Animal 2, with adjustable brush flaps helping it handle debris on carpets and hard floors. Amazon buyers echo that result: they praise the suction, power and ability to collect dog hair, dirt and debris. Choose it when cleaning performance matters more than having a light machine to carry.
Who it’s for For pet owners, carpet-heavy homes and anyone who wants a powerful corded upright for deep cleaning. It is a better fit for users comfortable handling a substantial machine than for people who need easy lifting or effortless pushing.

What to know
- The important drawbacks are its weight and stability: some Amazon buyers find it very heavy and difficult to push or maneuver, especially on carpets, while others report the head and main attachments coming loose and the upright not always staying standing. Vacuum Wars also found that too-low suction on some carpets can make it resist movement.
